In Loving Memory of
Dr. Richard Schulman went on an exploration of healing modalities that went beyond the conventional. Dr. Schulman tried deep regression hypnosis, got advanced training in psychodrama, worked with holotropic breathwork, movement therapies, eye movement and tapping therapies. All had something to add to the process, but it wasn’t until he became acquainted with cranio-sacral therapy and somato-emotional release and later, working with the lymph system and body therapy that a path to healing deep emotional trauma became clear.
Dr. Schulman developed a true Mind Body technique he called “The Emotional Shifting Process” which lies at the heart of the SST model. It’s a method in which a body therapist and psychotherapist work simultaneously on a patient to create a path to dissolve or release energies trapped in the body.
“I look at yoga as a dance between breath and movement; a tool you can use to get to know yourself, and connect your spirit to the body. My goal is to help you gain flexibility and confidence on and off the mat.”

Samantha is a Natural Health Practitioner, Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher and Mind Body Integration Therapist. She specializes in pain and dis-ease management by connecting her clients’ chronic pain/dis-ease and their emotional holding patterns. She has been a bodyworker for 21 years, with a focus in myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, lymphatic drainage, energy healing and mind/body integration.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is a passion of Samantha’s. She is trained in lymphatic applications for pre and post-op surgery, plastics as well as orthopedics. She is experienced at coaching her clients on supporting their body through various autoimmune conditions such as Fibromyalgia, RA, Lupus, Crohn’s, Cancer, Digestive Disorders, Allergies and many more. Samantha educates all of her clients on how to take responsibility, and advocate for their own health!
It is Samantha’s belief that all trauma, physical and emotional, is stored in the body. She helps her clients clear this trauma by accessing emotions and where they are stored in the body, then giving the emotion a physical exit point to release from the body. This process allows the physical therapies to work long term. She also did tandem work with Ph. D Psychologist, Richard Schulman using a therapy known as Mind Body Integration. This is a therapeutic modality involving the simultaneous participation of both psychotherapist (Dr. Richard Schulman) and body therapist (Samantha Haynes LMT, NMT) in the session to help a patient release and process deep emotional issues.
Samantha’s goal for all of her clients/patients is to get to the root of their issues, while providing a safe, supported and relaxing environment for true healing.
Nicoll brings a diverse background to his work as a brain trainer and neurofeedback expert. He studied with Dr. Michael Ryse, – Forgiveness Practices (Theodosia, MO), where the focus was on combining body-mind principles, physics and ancient texts to pioneer work in the fields of self healing, anger/grief resolution and the inner process of forgiveness. His studies also included Bears & Samahria Kaufman – The Option Process (Great Barrington, MA) and Hanna Kroeger – the “Grandmother of Health” (Peaceful Meadow in Boulder, CO), holistic nutrition, holistic healing, and natural remediation.
He studied and practiced Alexander Lowen’s work on breath and Bioenergetics and began to put the pieces together for what would become the foundation of his work with others.
Adding Reichian breath work and Postural Integration to his repertoire, Nicoll was drawn to Neurofeedback, as the result of seeing its success in mitigating Parkinson’s too myopic symptoms, including aspects of tremor, as well as cognitive/dementia-related issues.
Discovering its potential in unlocking patterns of brain behavior found to either be the source or at least a significant contributor to unhappiness in one’s life, was nothing short of career altering and has directed his professional path since.
This was the missing piece of the puzzle for Nicoll in his assemblage of an impressive array of utilities comprised of knowledge, skills and practices, which, when applied, each in kind and at their own time, have proven, time and again, to be effective in helping others to address their lives challenges and effect real, lasting change.
The path ahead was made clear for him, so that he would be playing a larger role in serving others in pursuing their processes toward mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health, wellness and equilibrium.
Megan is a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of trauma. Expanding the traditional therapy session to collaborate and blend with other healing practitioners is her passion as she works with clients on their healing journeys. Through the Emotional Shifting Process developed by Dr. Richard Schulman, she helped co-create the SST model. It is through the dynamic interaction between psychotherapy and other healing modalities in which profound and deep healing takes place. Megan incorporates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other brain integration strategies, somatic psychotherapy, movement, mindfulness practice, and several other clinical modalities to facilitate healing. Awareness of the connection between mind, body, emotion, and spirit is the foundation of Megan’s practice as she guides clients through the releasing, integration, and healing of emotional wounds.
In her practice, Megan finds that while individual experiences are unique, there are universal patterns of trauma and healing. With awareness of these patterns in the healing journey, we are able to deeply clear emotional pain. We become free to live our lives fully with peace and joy. With conscious awareness of our patterns, we become empowered to heal ourselves, heal others, and heal our society. We transform as we lean into ourselves.
Megan has been working in the mental health field for 20 years. She received her advanced clinical training at The Ohio State University, obtaining her Master of Social Work degree in 2007. She was also trained and mentored for many years by the late Dr. Richard Schulman, Ph.D., founder of The Emotional Shifting Process, in the mind-body connection, treating complex trauma, and the practice of mind-body psychotherapy.
